Little Bittern Ixobrychus minutus
A rare vagrant to the UK from southern Europe. It's usually an elusive and difficult bird to find but sometimes they do come out into the open.
The following bird belongs to the African race payesii, differing from nominate birds from the Palaearctic in having a rich russet neck.
