Snipe (Common Snipe) Gallinago gallinago
As a breeding bird this species has suffered a massive decline over the last few decades - the once familiar drumming display is now only heard from a handful of sites in Norfolk. At other times of the year the species remains common and widespread in the county, though in smaller numbers than previously.
