Whimbrel (Eurasian Whimbrel) Numenius phaeopus
A passage migrant in Norfolk and most of the UK, though a very few breed in the far north of Scotland.
All of the following photos belong to one of the Eurasian forms (presumably the western nominate race); click here for the American form Hudsonian Whimbrel which is sometimes treated as a distinct species.
